AŽD ceremonially launched production in the new technology center of the Brno production plant, specializing in system integration of electromechanical and vacuum assemblies for electron microscopy and spectrometry. With a capacity of up to 300 employees, the new hall marks a major expansion of our long-term cooperation with Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global leader in products and services for science. In April 2024, AŽD celebrates 20 years since the delivery of the first electron microscope console. Over that time, we have become one of the most important suppliers to Thermo Fisher Scientific, thanks to which approximately one-third of all electron microscopes in the world are produce in Brno. With the opening of the new Brno plant, this global share is expected to grow further in the coming years.
