Brno can boast something truly exceptional – it is a world centre for the development and manufacture of electron microscopes. The instruments produced here travel to prestigious institutions around the globe: they are used, for example, by NASA and Harvard University. The Days of Electron Microscopy (DEM) have been held regularly since 2017 and are open to absolutely everyone – curious technology enthusiasts, students, complete newcomers, and families with children looking for an interesting way to spend an afternoon.
Since 2023, DEM has been hosted by the Brno Observatory and Planetarium. Together with partners – microscope manufacturers, research centres, schools, a museum, and a science centre – they bring the very best of what electron microscopy has to offer.
